About the Role
We’re looking for a Security Systems Field Service Technician to troubleshoot and maintain IP cameras, access control systems, and other electronic security systems at customer sites nationwide. While your main focus will be service and maintenance, you may occasionally assist with installations or system upgrades. This role is ideal for a tech who enjoys problem-solving in the field and working directly with clients to ensure their systems are running reliably.
This is primarily a travel-based position.

What You’ll Do
- Respond to service calls and troubleshoot access control, IP cameras, and VMS platforms (Genetec, WAVE, Axis, Hanwha Vision)
- Perform preventative maintenance, firmware updates, and system health checks
- Replace defective devices, cabling, or components as needed
- Assist with new installations or equipment upgrades when required
- Document work performed, parts used, and system configurations
Travel Expectations
- Approximately 75% out-of-town travel
- Travel expenses fully covered (hotel, airfare, or company vehicle)
- Per diem provided
- Overtime opportunities available
- Some local projects may be available between travel assignments
- Candidates must be comfortable traveling during the work week
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of experience in security systems service or field support
- Knowledge of IP cameras, access control, and VMS software
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and system schematics
- Familiarity with networking concepts and PoE devices
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must pass background check and drug test
Preferred
- BICSI or manufacturer certifications
- Experience with Fluke DSX, OTDR, or fiber testing tools
